Sri Lanka is located in the tropical climate zone. There are few seasonal changes. Temperatures are always warm on land and in the sea.

 

During any month, land temperatures are usualy in the 70s and 80s. Water temperature is also in the 80s. In October, November, December, January, February and March, there are only 3 or 4 days of rain. In the other months, 9-15 days of rain can be expected. 

Because of the warm and sunny climate, you should make sure to pack summer clothes, and sunscreen, even if you visit Sri Lanka in the winter months. Sri Lanka is an island known for it's beaches, so you may want to pack a swim suit as well.
